Im considering using an all Dayton front end. 4 6 1/2" 4ohms running off the rear channels of a 4x65 Rockford amp (P4004), actively crossed over at about 65-500 (or use my 4 Rockfords, but the appeal of an all Dayton front end excites me)

Dayton ribbon tweeters in the pillars

Dayton RS 4" mids in the dash next to the ribbons, to match the ones you guys said to get in my other truck

Crossed over by a Dayton passive

all powered off the front channels of the same amp so getting something like 85-95 watts at the combined ohm load of the crossover, 4 ohm mid, and 8 ohm tweeter. I will cross this over at 500 htz and up on the amp and let the crossover do the 3k high/lo pass split.
for subs it will be 4 P2S412s run off a P8002 so about 1250 watts total between them. The amp and subs I already have so no changing them. Deck wise Im considering the Pioneer 3200BT or Kenwood 900BT. Still debating on reg or extended cab. If I go regular they will be in the bed with a bed coating covered box with a blow through, ex. cab then they will be in the ex. cab in fiberglass and paint

I am an old Car Audio guy, with that in mind the comments I have for you are..... You probably want to cross the 6.5's a little higher, depending on crossover slope but mabee closer to 80-90 hz. Second thought is do you have the real estate to mount the tweeters?? If so, you will have to do some more work making the tweet and the 4" match in loudness. From a sound quality standpoint crossing over the 6.5"s to the 4" at 500hz is going to be questionable if you can make it work well or not.

What kind of rockford 6.5" do you have?? Depending on the specs they may fair better than the daytons because most car stereo speakers are designed to not have a box. I will have to look at the specs of the daytons and see- ma bee somebody else can chime in here too.

Will this system work for you? It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Are you looking for super sound quality? Are you looking at loudness? Can you just buy the parts slap them in and it sound right, probably not, if you can do some level adjustment with resistors and have the patience to play around with it, you can probably make it sound pretty good.

or just a single 8" would do
I love misbass btw, nothing better than those 4 6.5s pounding out some kick drums! Thats what Im looking for! I can do bass, but mids and highs Im not so great at
I got a guy at work with some 8" and 3" ribbons in the pillars backed up with some 8" 8 ohm drivers from PE with a MS-8 Processor and its absolutely awesome, even off a stock Mazda deck! Of course the doors are all Dynamatted to hell and baffles are made to bring the 8s out
