Hi. Couple of days ago I went to Hifi shop to take a look around to check whats new. In home cinema room I saw B&W ASW10CM subwoofer. I was really impressed by the look of woofer and sound which produced. Speaker unit was really hard ( kevlar & cellulose). Also it was very hard to press inside( suspension was also made from some hard material).
So My question is does someone knows similar speaker that I can get for diy construction to be so good like B&W woofer?

Maybe something like JL audio

Looks very solid. But is it good to put car woofer to home cinema subwoofer?

There are plenty of drivers out there that can exceed the performance of the B&W.

JL Audio W6v2 & W7 series, TC Sounds LMS & LMS-R, Acoustic Elegance AV series, Exodus Audio Shiva-X2, the CSS SDX series, and I am sure there are a few others I am not thinking of.

The 10W6v2 is a stellar performer in a music application as is the 8w7 & 10W7.

The CSS SDX-10 (http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=SDX10) will give you a very similar look with performance to boot.

You won't get much better musical reproduction and deep extension than you do with the RSS265HF.

The Dayton Reference series subs are well made, look great, fit into small enclosures, and will cross as high as you need them to while maintaining low levels of distortion.

Thanks for info. What do You think about Pioneer TS-W303R. Its quite cheap. 250 watts RMS, Frequency response 20-180 Hz and Sensitivity 95 dB...

Pete, what alignment do you like on the HF10?
Do you need a PR with that, due to box size, or is a vented box doable?

Dan Neubecker used a tapered TL in the HOSS in about 2 cubic feet I believe. Worked like a charm.
