One way is to open pdf in Photoshop and save as: jpg.
Also a pdf can be "screenshot" ( Shift + Print Scrn ) and copy pasted to appropriate image program.

use the snapshot tool in acrobat reader and import directly into SPLcopy. or snapshot or screen capture and put into MSPaint and save as a BMP. file is bigger, but colors stay more accurate so it has less chance to go off track than JPGs. if it's a black and white graph, you can also use paint (use the eraser with the right click, old color on the left/foreground, new on the right/background) to selectively recolor sections.

I just did this for the first time, and I used the screenshot technique, one file had colored lines that spl copy followed very well, and one had black lines that spl copy followed all sorts of graph lines. On the black line graphs I just erased the lines that connected to the actual graph line so spl copy would not get "sidetracked" and follow another straight line, vertical or horizontal and it worked well.
