it looks interesting and is on sale although the 1.5mm xmas would require multiples for any real air movement (ala DA175).

I personally wouldn't pay $42 for a woofer with a steel frame AND a whopping 1.5mm Xmax.

Played around with these on bass box awhile back and after reading review's maybe build some for your cousin first or move on to something else:D

Unless there's some particular aspect about it that's good, why bother spending your time working with that driver when you could pay a little more for the RS225...

But of course, the counter-argument is when does that stop, if there's always a better option for "just a little more...".

It would be nice to see a measurement. If you can measure it yourself and find such activity enjoyable, then it seems reasonably priced and might be a fun project.

I'd be more inclined to want to try the cast frame version, partially because I don't care for the look of that extra ring protruding between the surround and the stamped metal frame.

Got that same sales notification, but rejected it because it's too displacement limited.

Way back when I first started building speakers I usedthem for the under $150 contest. The frame is really cheap stamped metal. There was a hump around 1200 that I never tamed and I eventually gave the drivers away and put some really nice cheap Peerless 8" drivers in the cabinets. They are in my daughter's room and still sound great.

I'm messing with some 6.5 inch MCM speakers right now, and they're measurements on WT3 are way higher than the published spec. Buyer beware.;)
