This is my second to last post.
I sent PMs requesting email addresses to several of you.

First of all, a big thanks to my buddy Mark65 for looking for me, looking out for me, looking out after me. Say hi to “Stinky” for me too, OK.

A really big thanks to charlielaub for arranging and hosting most of our NorCal DIY get togethers.
Sorry Charlie, StarKist wants tuna that tastes good, not tuna with good taste.

Thanks to Face for that cool pic of Mr. Jack in the Box sitting court side at the Staples Center enjoying a LAKERS game. I absolutely loved it.

Thanks to Ludo for being a really mellow person and an excellent DIYer.

Thanks to johnnyrichards for his succinct observations and undeservedly kind comments.

jclin4 thanks for the idea/drawing that inspired my 4.3 cu.ft. Megaliths. I’ll forward you some pictures etc, one day when they are finished whenever that will be provided I get your email address.

Wolf, there is no such word as irregardless. Yes, you are the true post leader here at the Tech Talk forum, because a significant portion of Pete’s posts are nothing more than global warming BS. Well, I see you kind of slowed down your pace some. Good for you, building more and talking less.

Paul K. thank you for teaching me the difference between complement and compliment and I’m definitely not saying this as a compliment to you.

Pete Schumacher thanks for teaching all of us all we NEVER wanted to know about the politics (not facts) of global warming. Anyway, I do like your choices/selections of music. I am a long time fan of fusion, but I never heard of Brand-X until you posted the link. I’ll have to buy some Mahogany Rush one day too.

MSaturn not someone I would always agree with, but someone I’d probably enjoy having a long conversation and a drink or two with. Well maybe even several drinks, just as long as he is buying!

A shout out to benchtester I finally met you at our last DIY. To Rene, keeping it cool up there in Canada. Andy G having a gday in Australia.

jcandy that thread on capacitor testing was awesome, supported by real data. It was good until someone came along and mentioned “Bybee” filters!

Last but not least, even though he never personally did anything for me, a special thanks to Jeff B. for his absolutely solid contributions to the DIY loudspeaker building community. And he does it all without being condescending.

Did I miss anybody? Well if I did, sorry about that.

Adios Muchachos.

I'm sure it was just an honest mistake/lapse in memory that I didn't make it.

Oh well, maybe I'll meet him at a NorCal DIY event.

Remember Alan, I'm the guy who remembers and appreciates the giant stack of magnets. ;)

Thanks for the nice words.

Hi All,

This site is now the premium site to visit as far as DIY speakers is concern, preferable to DiyAudio which I believe is declining.

I also like to thank to those you(AE) mentioned in your post. They are very helpful indeed.

Cheers....

AE,

I sure hope you'll consider sticking around these parts for more than a couple of posts. I, for one, have missed your presence, contributions and even your sense of humor.

Don't be a stranger,

Louis

Alan, I appreciate what you said, and you're welcome. I truly wish that you'd reconsider, and stay here with the rest of us lunatics.;)

If not, you have my email, keep me posted on what you're up to, ok?

Take care, my friend.

Mark

I thought of some choice things to reply with, but after second (and third, and fourth) thoughts, decided they would be better left unsaid.

99% of human beings agree I am fun to drink with. Awesome.

Always enjoyed arguing, AE. Happy trails.

Interesting how these places ebb and flow. I know I haven't been around much (too much 'real life'.)

Alan,
I miss ya around speakchat! Come on man, hang out for a while. This place is like the 40 people I oversee.... Working together has its ups, downs, frustrations, and challanges, but I would go out and have a drink with any of them.

Best of luck with everything.

Hi AE,

I just dropped by today after a long hiatus and am surprised to see this post.

It's been a while - I've enjoyed meeting you at NCAL events and and reading your posts.

I hope you're not giving up the hobby entirely.

Best of Luck and Best Regards,
Jonathan

Alan,

Thanks for the really cool tweeters; got around to measuring them today and they're quite nice:

Impedance = 8 ohms
Fs = 1.5kHz
Distortion < 1% above 2kHz
Sensitivity = 89.5dB/2.83V @ 1m

Now I just need to find a set of woofers that compliment their look. I put them aside the DA-175, but the look of its black surround, frame and dust cap doesn't match the look of the tweeter very well.

By the way, any idea what speaker system these tweeters are from?

Louis
