I've got a pair of Polk RC60i speakers installed in the ceiling.

A few months ago I replaced the receiver with a Sherwood RX-4503.

As the weeks went by we started getting a hum on certain inputs, and it's gradually gotten worse and worse. We now hear it on all inputs, even the tuner. Here's the thing, though, the "B" speakers are the Overnight Sensations I've got out on the patio, and I hear no hum through them.
So, I was thinking that it's the filters in the Overnights that block out the hum. Do you suppose I could put capacitors in series with the ceiling speakers to reduce the hum? How many microfarads? I think the hum is 60 Hz, or perhaps one of the higher harmonics.
