Up for sale is my pair of Madisound RBR speakers designed by Jed of clearwave loudspeakers. I bought the kit (scan speak 15S/8531K01 revelator woofers with SB acoustic SB29RDC-C000-4 tweeters with upgraded XO components - Clarity Cap PX and SA caps, Alpha Core Inductors and Mundorf resistors) last year, and built the cabinets myself. Instead of the bookshelf design, i went with the slim floorstanding version and have been very pleased with it. After my odysseys amps were sold recently, these have just been sitting in the closet.
The cabinet is made of cabinet grade ply with the baffle being 1.5" thick (.75 MDF + .75 ply bonded with polyurethane adhesive). The inside is lined by 1" thick foam on vinyl tiles. Pics are below ... but its a DIY effort. The finishing is not as good as some of the efforts you see here.
Since this is DIY, i've no packing material, and would greatly prefer a local sale (75025). Am willing to drive upto 100 miles to meet you half way.
Asking for $650.00 obo

Ugh. Why are you in my backyard! When would you be free to have them listened to? I live over at the Shops of Legacy for a few more days.

Bump for a great deal on some smokin' speakers. Even better that they're the tower version!
If I wasn't currently in the middle of the project I'm building I would snatch these up in a heart beat.

Thanks for all the good words about these!
Yes, they are still available. I should be able to ship these. They are not exactly huge speakers ... so i should find a suitable box from U-Haul or similar store.

A pair of these recently sold on audiogon for your asking price, but not in nearly as nice cabinets as these! A great deal for sure.

Nice looking speakers.
I've personally shipped speakers that size and larger. UPS/Fedex will demolish them if they aren't in a wood crate. I've had good luck with the following method:
Wrap w/ cellophane to protect the finish.
Make a "crate" of 1/2" foam around the speaker and wrap with cellophane again to keep the foam in place.
Make a real crate to go around that out of 2x4. Use wood screws and brace the corners.
Good luck w/ the sale!

Thats how i was going to pack them if i were to ship. Rigid styrofoam all around the speaker within a good box. I shipped a pair of DIY speakers a couple of years back packed this way, and it seemed to arrive at its destination without any problems.
