Good day all. I have embarked on my first diy electronics project and have a small query. I decided to build the cmoy headphone amp and in almost all iterations I see they prefer metal film resistors. In my country diy components are hard to come by and i have easier access to carbon and carbon film.

Would substituting the carbon for the metal film yield a major difference?

heres the amp btw

Thanks in advance

Seems you are not the only one to have asked this question with regard to headphone amps - http://www.head-fi.org/t/405513/carbon-film-vs-metal-film-resistors

No problem! That's a fun little project. If you use a DIP socket, you can try different opamps. Here's a great site - http://tangentsoft.net/audio/
