I'm trying to decide which shallow mount subwoofer to use in my truck. I'm looking at Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F; Rockford Fosgate P3SD410; or Dayton Audio NS270-44 10" Neodymium Low-Profile DVC Subwoofer. The box I'm using has a width of 46" heigth 10 1/2" depth of 18" (all external measurements) (link to box -> http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/Dodge-Ram-Extended-Cab-1994-2001-Dual-10-Custom-Subwoofer-Box-Enclosure-Textured-Black.htm?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=GoogleBaseFeed) with a mounting depth of 5 1/4" with MDF thickness of 5/8". I'm already have a JL audio 500/1v2 amplifier that I plan on using to power 2 of the aforementioned subwoofers. I've graphed the three subwoofers with this box, and the dayton's look like the winner to me unless I'm missing something. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Don't forget in your modeling that you'll get a huge in-cabin low bass boost being in a vehicle; other than that, enjoy!

Tom, is there any way to model the bass boost you're talking about? I'm new to this modeling stuff so I'm still learning as I go. Will it boost all frequencies, or just the lower end ones? I'm wanting to set my system up more for sound quality at higher levels of volume. I'm still working on my first cup of coffee, so I hope this doesnt seem like random rambling. Thanks for your feedback.

You can do this relatively well using Jeff Bagby's Baffle Diffraction and Boundary Loading simulator.

Let me know if you need help with any of that.

Wow, I never knew there was this much that could be done. If it's possible, I could use some help with terminology so I have a starting point to measure from. Also, when I make these measurments, where do I measure from? The center of the driver, farthest point from where I'll be sitting? How do I calculate room pressurization leakage? It looks like a very interesting program, hope I can get it figured out:)
