You PROBABLY just need to replace the surrounds with a surround repair kit. Someone from PE tech support can probably talk you through which ones you need. They can also do the repairs for you, or you could search for replacement woofers, like on ebay.

Post a picture. Maybe PE would take it on anyhow. Problem with dropping a different driver in there is that it has to be compatible with the internal box volume (and tuning if it's vented), AND has to have a response curve (including sensitivity) AND impedance profile which match the original, otherwise the crossover won't be compatible.

If they are more than 10 years old, the OEM probably can't help you...but it can't hurt to contact them. Flea-bay might be a source for some NOS woofers. Always best to replace with the original, because of the reasons Chris mentioned. Just matching up impedance and frequency response data isn't the way to find a replacement. It has to have the same characteristics, T/S parameters and impedance profile as the stock woofer. Very difficult to find an aftermarket woofer that'll match the same specs because many OEM's use proprietary made-just-for-them woofers & tweeters. The original crossover was designed for that driver only. Parts Express does repairs...call them and see if they could help. These guys are another resource:

They do repairs also, but they might be able help finding an OEM driver for you. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I have a pair of paradigm 9se speakers with good woofers, one good tweeter and one bad tweeter. I would be willing to sell the drivers. If you are interested, send me an e-mail. You will find an e-mail link on my profile page. I will have to get them out of the attic where they are stored.
