I know it's not the cheapest, but I had not seen it before.

This Boyd (ancestrally on the maternal side, traced back to 1205... :P ) had not seen those. They're interesting. But I have a pair of Aurum Cantus AST2560 I'm playing with... really don't need more. I swear.

The price of admission is high, but I do like the looks.

It's traced back through my father's mother's branch, even though that was not the intention of this thread. Funny how a typo can do things like this!

We could actually be related...

If you go back to what is now known as the Dean Castle near Kilmarnock then we are... :) scary! could be worse, I suppose. My great-grandfather is a Boyd (mom's mom's dad)...

I'm really looking forward to the Aero tweet, think it'll be paired with a Neo8 and ... we'll see. :)

Those do look cool, I like the depth of the waveguide, it might help with acoustic centering for nearfield applications (I am mostly talking out of my ***, but it sounds good amiright?)

I'm testing a similar shaped tweeter except smaller with my waveguides, the RT20021. It has a square face as this tweeter does. Interestingly I have found a round throat covering the edges as this tweeter had seems to be working best. I've also found an elliptical guide works well.
My guess the oval bevel you see around this tweeter is to control the top end.

I bet you could fashion a waveguide for these, Dave, that would bring up the low end to match the top end rise, maybe with a litte boost at the low end as well.

I like the look of these, but I wish the price was about half that. Can these AeroStriction tweeters be that expensive to make or is it just a marketing/demand thing? I know the Airborne's are a lot cheaper, but most of the AMT-type offerings are up in this range.

I'll toss mine at some guides when I get there I think. Will be interesting if nothing else.

Thought this thing looked interesting too...

Almost like a underhung tweeter construction with that cone material. Sadly both are decidedly out of my budet right now but would love to see some 3rd party impressions/measurements.
