  2. My "canned" spray-paint methods....

Spray-can method! Notes- wipe cabinets down between all steps to remove dust and debris, and wait at least 24 hrs before attempting the next step. Low humidity is a blessing if weather permits. Patience is a virtue with paint, as you have to let it dry. If you reapply before sanding, wait until the paint is dry to sand. It does not have to be set and cured to keep building layers. It does have to dry at least 24 hrs to sand. I use an old T-shirt to wipe off the dust, so to not marre the finish. ...

  3. "W3-517S1-DCR" writeup....

“W3-517S1 DCR” by Ben “Wolf” Shaffer 5/27/07

I took these to Dayton DIY 05/06. What a positive response they received!

    Design Goals:

This was my first attempt at a one-way single-driver full-range project. I picked up this pair of drivers from the first annual Parts Express Tent Sale for about $3 total. I later learned that these are in high demand for commercial companies due to the great off-axis response characteristics, and that I may own the only ...

  4. "Scandivifias" writeup.....

“The Scandivifias” by Ben “Wolf” Shaffer; finished 9-19-07.

    Project Goals/Inception:
It all started with the first annual Parts Express Tent Sale (2005). It was towards the end of the sale day, I had already found some bargains, and I took a last scouring of the shelves. Then I found it. It was in a dusty worn box, marked $60, and faintly labeled, “SCAN-SPEAK”! With excitement I cleared off the merchandise on top of it, and opened the flaps to reveal a 15W/8530K00 5.5” midbass ...

  5. The "Rubyk Project" writeup.....

The Rubyk project by Ben “Wolf” Shaffer 5/17/07

    Goal-
This project started as an idea for a full-range single-driver speaker, and would further be augmented by the Peerless 830878 3.5” passive radiator. I wanted to get decent bass extension, have a controlled xmax curve, and be able to basically cover the audible frequency spectrum as low and as compactly as possible.

    Driver selection-
I proceeded after the initial idea was created, to model most of the ...
