So I've got my Diy cnc pretty much running and made my first tweeter cutout yesterday, it was just out of pink foam installation and all was going perfectly until my Z axis hit a "stop" that it wasn't meant to. Here's my first "real" trial of using a urethane resin for a small 3" full-range speaker, as you can see the result are pretty good, though it takes a lot of thought and preparation in the actual mold making step with careful planing unique and quickly repeatable shapes can be created.
This is (by accident) about 1/3 as tall as it was meant to be, the sidewalls are 1" thick.

I've seen people post about using material other than wood and though there are some diy designs from concrete/marble/Corian... This will be my journey though finding a material which is easy to use and has satisfactory properties for loudspeaker enclosures.
