Ruination Part 2

The inductor I was waiting on arrived and so I was able to get the speakers fired up again on 06/23/10. My initial impression, from about 5 hours of listening last night, is that they sound very good. I played a few tracks that previously had what I’d describe as woofer breakup ringing taking place last night. The ringing that was present with the prior crossover is no longer audible.
I modeled the speakers at 50% BSC which seems to work well for my living room. I have the speakers out about a foot from my wall and from experimenting 8” to 14” seems to be the sweet spots for the speakers in that room.
Both the Lambics and the Ruinations are headed up to VT this weekend for some listening tests and tweaks and to pass the Lambics off to their new owner. So I’ll update this blog with any further discoveries as a result of that trip.
