  • FS in Los Angeles: subwoofer, subwoofer cabinet, oscilliscope, KEF bookshelfs...

    Hello,

    Consolidating a lot of stuff:

    $95 firm firm firm
JBL SB210 pro-audio 2x10" ported woofer (in pro-audio they call it a subwoofer, goes to 40 Hz.). Well engineered JBL with two aluminum-coned woofers in a clever enclosure to minimize space. Loud and clean. Enclosure is VERY damaged, though still functional (polystyrene box warped). Bought for the woofers to use in a project; decided making an active 3 way with 10" woofers in my bedroom was a bit excessive. Getting a hang on this rationality business...
    Specs:
    http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/v...ol-sb210#Specs

Also have the U bracket for suspending this, as well as another input module, so you can use it either with a passive crossover (downstream high-pass for satellites) or an active crossover to go ALL OUT.

Have a pair of coaxial Tannoy IW 6TDC speakers, and the matching IW 62TS subwoofer, used. Information at the below links. Tannoy make GREAT speakers!
The previous owner sadly spray-painted through the grilles, but they still sound fine, and the sub/woofers (the dual long-throw 6.5" IW 62TS) doesn't have any paint splatter. $215 is what I'm looking for.

Main speakers (2 way cast-frame coaxial + supertweeter):
    http://www.proacousticsusa.com/tanno...udspeaker.html
    or
    http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/089272-Tannoy-iW-6TDC

    Subwoofer (dual 6.5" cast-frame woofers):
    http://www.proacousticsusa.com/tanno...subwoofer.html
    or
http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/125450-Tannoy-IW62TS $85 firm firm firm: OneAC MD1102 medical grade 2.2A isolation transformer

Bought a nice 12 channel amplifier (Sherbourn 12/900, not the LDS version) to have enough channels to consolidate two amplifiers I was using into one, but realize it's overkill to have so many extra channels, and so will go back to the two separate amplifiers. This is a wonderfully engineered amplifier that's built as six two-channel amplifiers (12 channels), 5 of which are bridgeable, each channel pair with their own selectable trigger configuration (music sensing, 12V external trigger, or always-on). Pertinent specs for each two channel module:
    50 watts RMS stereo @ 8 ohms
    75 watts RMS stereo @ 4 ohms
    150 watts RMS mono @ 8 ohms

In meh shape aesthetically, but all channels work, and work well. Definitely doesn't look new - but functionally GREAT for active multi-channel experiments. $115 firm for this one.

Local pickup only in Los Angeles (90042) as it's heavy!

Bought a Class D Audio CDA-1000 kit with the upgraded 600VA transformer to run bridged into two channels of subwoofers. Ended up getting a Yamaha pro-audio amp before I even opened up the box - so I have it for sale, still unopen from when I bought it, for the same $250 plus shipping that I paid.

    Kit link:
    http://www.classdaudio.com/amplifier...-1000-kit.html
    Amp module link:
    http://www.classdaudio.com/amplifier...x-2-8-ohm.html

Build log of a 4 channel amplifier based on this kit (with the normal 400VA tranny):
    http://www.facstaff.bucknell.edu/esa...rroundAmp.html

Contains two CDA-254 modules and one large power supply. Each CDA-254 is good for
    125 @ 8 ohms stereo
    250 @ 4 ohms stereo
    or
    500 @ 8 ohms mono

Have a KEF Q100 (style = black ash) with a bad tweeter for sale. Local pickup in Los Angeles only as shipping one is a pain.

And a pair (style = really nice light birch) of the same KEF Q100 that have been modified with nicer damping material (long-haired English wool (you can tell by the accent)) and the walls have been stiffened by an internal bolt (modifications are not visible from outside - speakers look brand new). $245 very firm for that pair - have original Q100 boxes so can ship them appropriately padded. Was going to use as an LCR in the home theater but am going to stick with the incredible 12" Tannoy dual-concentrics because aesthetic considerations only go so far!

Update: tweeters went bad in other pair as well. :-( Curse those 1st order crossovers/KEF! $75 for all three VERY nice Q100 boxes with intact woofers.

18" enclosure and cast-frame Eminence 18" woofer - $65 together! Pictures later below in the thread.

Exodus Audio PR18 18" passive radiator, cast frame, with mass kit: $55

    $85 firm:
Stewart PA-100B amplifier. Small amplifier, switching power supply, AB output stage. 1/4" inputs and barrier strip outputs.
    50/90 RMS stereo 8/4 ohm
    180 watts bridged mono @ 8 ohms.
    Bandwidth (=/- 3db) 5 Hz. - 100 kHz.
    HWD = 1.7" x 8.5" x 10.2"

Probably more stuff I forgot about.

All but the Stewart amplifier are local-pickup-only.

    cheers,
-Tal, who is trying to simplify his life and reduce the amount of stuff he has

Can you give some more details on the "good set of probes" for the scope?

How heavy is the scope? I live in NorCal but probably need to ship anyway.

          Hello all,

I'll try to get pictures of the requested items this week. Been really busy writing a paper for school that's due soon.

          Thanks,

One of two Standesign racks I have for sale (I FINALLY found a rack I like. Life would be so much easier if one wasn't particular.)

Shelves are adjustable, and the rack is deceptively solid, despite the cantilevered support beams. I'd put the heaviest thing at the bottom, and not worry about the rest. People I bought it from had a fairly heavy CRT TV at the top shelf!

                Asking $50.

The other Standesign rack is not adjustable, and is a much more normal (fixed shelf spacing) 4-legs-and-a-platform that is modular - I have four shelves for it (3 shelf units and the base). Asking $50 for that one, and $90 if you take both - think of the possibilities!

                Cheers,
                -Tal

FS in Los Angeles: subwoofer, subwoofer cabinet, JBL LSR-32, KEF bookshelf/center

have a pair of JBL LSR-32 speakers that I'm mulling selling. There are VERY few commercial speakers I consider really exemplary, but these are one such beast.

Was using as a reference against the speaker design I'm working on, but I fear that having them is making me put off putting together my own speakers.

Would accept $650 for the pair, firm. The tweeter is pushed in on one of them (sigh) but still sounds good.

                  cheers,
                  -Tal

Updated original post, and would sell the JBL LSR-32s for $600. Having them is preventing me from building my own DIY reference speakers - they're not easily bettered.

                      cheers,

                          Just added:

Squeezebox Duet Receiver (just the receiver; was using my phone to control it) - $85 local, $100 shipped CONUS. Been exlclusively using Squeezebox as a music source for some 7 years now - just upgraded to a SB Touch.

                          Also:
Dead KRK V6 bi-amplified studio monitor - $30. Might be an easy fix? Or not.

I do, but would rather not ship... have had some less-than-perfect experiences with shipping delicate speakers lately.
