  • Gollehon speakers?

Just got back from practice and my drummer got some free pro speakers from a local club. He has a pair of mid horns, horn tweeters, and subs. I am just curious if they are decent as I have never heard of them.

Another thing I noticed was that the horn enclosures have ports Is this some kind of horn/bandpass?

    Any info is appreciated.

Quick google search, the ones you describe appear to be one of the first pictures.

No these are different. The mid, tweet, and sub are each in their own separate enclosure. I tried googling but couldn't find these. I tried to take pics but it was dark and the camere wasn't cooperating

The band I joined circa 1983 had that set-up, which was loud enough but weighed a ton. We got rid of it for some of my cabs at the earliest opportunity. They're not subs, there were none that long ago, they're bass bins that run from roughly 40-1500Hz.

Managed to find a pic of the "sub" https://www.flickr.com/photos/jhvu/14023082917
Also managed to find the tweeter http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Goll...-/281569436728. Looks like the tweeter has a passive xo. Would be nice if the mids do too.

Edit. Here are the mid horns although the drivers have been replaced and I am not sure if the horns/drivers are the same size. The cabs look identical though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARVIN-SPEAK...p2047675.l2557

That's a knock-off of the 1977 JBL Keele W horn. You have to scroll down a bit to find it.

Thanks Bill. That is a awesome reference. One of the horns is missing a driver so it will help a lot when trying to find a replacement. Of course I am not going to spend JBL driver prices. This is just for fun and these will not be used for gigging so I am just seeing if it is possible to get them working again without spending a lot.

Did you ever come up with a replacement driver? I have two drivers that supposedly came from Gollehon speakers. In this case Gollehon used ProSystems drivers. At one pojnt I figured out the model number but would have to dig around to find it. They use a phenolic diaphram with ferrofluid.
