  • Redoing heresy cabinets using carpathian elm burl

Redoing Heresy cabinets (were walnut but had chips, dings and water spots) with CEB veneer.

Got them in the finishing stage now using Minwax wipe on poly satin. The veneer really absorbs the finish.

what kind of stain did you use? and how did you finish them? (did you fill in the veneer first?)

Thanks for the compliments guys. I didn't stain the veneer but only applied Minwax wipe on poly satin. The veneer is pretty thick and absorbs the poly. I have filled in voids which occur naturally in this type veneer.

Got these finished. Here are pics of the final version with installed slanted risers and new grill frames with brown can grill material.

Even the grill cloths are beautiful. The wood grain is nice but I see the images of eyes of animals if I look at for awhile.
