  • Canton Plus C reboot

Many years ago I picked up a Canton Plus C subwoofer on the cheap. This passive sub was connected to a plate amp that sat in my audio rack and it has served me well over the years. I picked up a SPA500DSP and a RSS265HF-4 and thought I could give this sealed cabinet a little more low end. Since the Plus C has a 12" driver and my new driver was a 10", an adapter ring was needed. This ring was built with 3/4" MDF and is recessed flat to the cabinet's baffle. The woofer is rear mounted to the adapter so that the factory grill can be used without concerns of the woofer hitting it on high excursions.
I'm still in the testing phase and need to paint the adapter, but I'm really enjoying the host of options on the SPA500DSP. I have done some basic sweeps measuring the SPL as I change the PEQ on the amp. Next up is painting the adapter, finalizing room location of the sub, and running sweeps from the listening locations to tune the PEQ.

Kind of nice how that white ring looks on the black background. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments The ring is raw mdf and I too like the contrasting colors. I don't feel like taking it apart to paint, so it might stay as is.
