  • TriTrix LCR in Red Oak

Here are pictures of the completed build that was documented here:
    http://techtalk.parts-express.com/sh...d.php?t=215446
I am very pleased with the way this project (my first speaker build) evolved. The look and sound exceeded all of my expectatons.
The baffles are red oak and the L/R have walnut accents. Oak is stained with a blend of 1/2 cherry and 1/2 Special Walnut. Minwax gloss wipe on poly was the finish. All painted surfaces are Rustoleum 2X flat black.
Thanks to Curt for his design. http://speakerdesignworks.com

The concept of the speakers was to echo the design of tables I constructed.

Dowels and Grilles held on with magnets.

My compliments. Some very clever construction details. You matched the table and the Mission style details well.
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

Man, that's freakin' cool! You have a whole bunch of new ideas going on there that I've never seen before. And for the most part, they're all cosmetic and won't impact the sound (the grills are debatable to some ...:rolleyes

That's a great speaker for someone to get some inspiration on giving old designs a fresh new look! Keep it up! ... better yet, do one of my designs!!! :D

Funny you should say that. I was working on ideas for the ONS MTM/MT and or the Coppers during todays luncheon meeting.

Very, very nice. About the nicest "first build" I have seen yet.

And since you are local, I need to hear those suckers some time!

Man those look pretty sharp. Sort of art deco? If thats the right thing I'm thinking of. Either way those look great and I'd be proud to have em in my home. Except they'd make everything here around them look worse by comparison.

Mighty impressive, Mark. That's the cleanest spray finish I've seen in a long time. Tell me that wasn't done with a rattle can...

Can I have your amazing attention to detail? I'll trade my overwhelming impatience for it.

Thanks. Sorry but it was rattle can. The Rustoleum 2x at HD is very good stuff to work with.
Detail! Of course.... As an Architect my job is to take something simple and make it unneccessarily complicated and unaffordable.

Those look aesthetically amazing. How is the bass? BTW, the table is excellent too.
