  • A Pair of New Subs (pix heavy)

Hey guys, thought you might like to see a pair of subs I just finished for a client of mine. I finished them up yesterday and he took delivery of them today. The internals are designed by Earl Geddes (band pass) and the exterior is a the brain child of my client and mine, these weigh a ton! R.K.

Yeah gut pics!!! I'm assuming that these are a 4th order BP given the size. What PR is that and what's used inside?

They look like the Dayton shallow 12's.

Thanks for the comments guys, im glad you like them you should see them in person. They have a Stealth Bomber look to them. As far as the internals and the drivers go Im not at liberty to share that info as its not my design on the inside nor did I choose the drivers but any other aspects of the design ill be happy to anwser any questions you guys have. BTW the CF is 3-M Di-Noc, of all Ive used I like this brand the best, its a little tricky sometimes to work w/ but the overall look and feel IMO is the closest to real CF Ive found. R.K.

Assuming they're the stock model, Dr. Geddes' subs use the B&C 12TBX100 and the 15" Dayton flat PR. That's not proprietary info.

Superb looking work. The baffles and backs look like solid surface material. If they are painted MDF, you are indeed the man. Shoot, even if they are corian you still do fantastic work.

Is this a full time gig for you?

The baffles are indeed 1" MDF but the arent painted in the true sense of the word, the "Paint" is a pigmented (black in this case) Conversion Varnish , super tough and lays down like glass ! I have thought about using solid surface but Im not sure how it would resonate. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

As far as a full time gig, I have a full time Custom Cabinet shop and fell into this around a year or so ago after building a client a few Audio related equiptment and since then the work load has been pileing up ! No complaints here :D R.K.

I konw there's a big name Audiophile-grade company that uses Corian(r) for their baffles.
