  • Latest subwoofer project.

This sub goes along with the rear surrounds and cc I built for my buddy. I used precut 1" thick plywood for outer shell on five sides and 2 x 3/4" mdf on bottom sub baffled. I glued/screwed on 1/4" mdf on interior and braced well. It uses a 12" Klipsch 1071 woofer and Klipsch sub amp. Veneered with walnut on sides and curly walnut on top. I will install 1" solid walnut around top and on corners which will also act as legs to suppor the sub 3" off floor.

I love me some walnut! Just curious how are you planning to attach the legs to the piece? Screwed from the inside(?)

I plan on gluing, clamping and shooting screws from insid and bottom to secure leg. I may use expoxy for extra strengthThe legs will but up against the top trim which should also supply some resistance to movement.

Thanks Reiss. Got everything finished today except install subwoofer and amp. It is a shame this will be hidden under a table at my friends house!!!

                The sub looks fantastic.

You need a pair of these to match it. LOL.

Of course, the woofers are no longer available. Doooohhhhhhh! But there are several woofers out there that could probably be substituted.

Kudos on not using a different species of wood for the corners. It's really a pet peeve of mine. Makes for such a cleaner look. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
