  • Flying arrays and weather?

How do the arrays they use at outdoor music festivals tolerate driving rain? I have to admit I've never paid attention what happens when inclement weather occurs. I know they often have something like a small roof over the top of the array but some of these arrays are 20' tall and that little roof isn't going to protect anything a few feet from it. I'd think a lot of these arrays have paper drivers, no?

    Just curious.

Chicago's Pritzger Pavillian in Millennium Park has a distributed system which is exposed to the weather all year long.

RE: Chicago's Pritzger Pavillian - Talaske-designed audio system
The loudspeaker systems installed consist mostly of custom, weather resistant versions of various EV X-Array models: the Xcn, Xf, Xb, Xcb, Xds and Xi-1123A/106F..
