      There are many 1 inch and 1.4 inch horns and compression drivers on the market tthat can easily play flat to 1000 Hz. A properly horn loaded dome tweeter could probably do something similar, but is less readily available.

        Sound fantastic. I built some speakers for RCA studio A using them and they sounded incredible, Crossed around 1200hz with a shaping
        CR. Wow!

          WOW! (I know this is OT for the thread, but I'm the OP.) Look at the FR for the HF10AK! Mounted on a 50x40 horn it's flat from 1K-20K. But it isn't a cheap mongrel either....

              I crossed it low actively (like 1K if I recall) there was a little bump in the mids so I put a cap with a resistor in parallel and ran the rc (2/3 of a notch) in series
              with the compression driver, it was then able to deal with the 1K xover and was much flatter and gorgeous sounding. What does OT and OP mean?
