  • Vintage 1992 JBL bookshelf speaker queston

I just got some 1990's era J2060 bookshelf speakers.

They seem perfect, but was gonna replace the tweeter caps, as they are quite old.

After taking out tweeters, checked the D.C. resistance and got about 4.5 ohms on both. but.....

Their technical paper says 8 ohms D.C. resistance. Not even close to what I measured, and assuming not a typo, same info on a few other speakers they use same tweeter in.

Any ideas? ( my meter is very close, so not that) and woofers measure very close. And I account for lead resistance, so not that either...

I have a J center sitting on my bench.and I suspect they have the same tweeter. When I get a chance I'll pull it and take a measurement. Can you post the part number off the tweeters you have ?
