Man what sad news to wake up to . I knew of his stuff , mostly from the radio stations. It wasnt until last year that I gained respect for the man . I bought two tickets for me and the Mrs ( she's a huge fan) for his acoustic show in Sioux City Iowa .... Holy F#$@ was that incredible . Honestly , that was probably one of the best concerts Ive seen . Was looking forward to seeing him again if he came back through. Very sad indeed.

No doubt, big loss there. Looks like Eddie Vedder is the last to hold the "grunge" torch of all the big bands from the Seattle scene. I kinda wonder if they knew something was up with the Temple of the Dog tour that happened. RIP

Wife woke me with a tear in her eye and told me this sad news. I think he was the best singer of his generation, truly talented with any type of material.
I was lucky enough to see him numerous times 3x with Sound Garden, 2x with Audioslave, 2x solo, and most recently with Temple of the Dog in NYC
at Madison Sq. Garden back in Nov.

              Sorry- I missed this post.
              I'll delete mine...

I listened to a lot of the grunge scene in High School and College So this was a shock to me.
              He was 52.
              RIP, Chris.

I have Superunknown as well, but I don't have TotD.

                    A great voice now silent.

Truly a great rock vocalist. Like a soulful version of Ronnie James Dio (also passed).

I am close to Detroit and was listening a guy talk about the concert last night at the Fox. In the middle of the last encore Chris went into Led Zep's "In My Time of Dying". Was just talking to my wife over dinner wondering if there is any way to help someone who has answered negative to the ultimate philosophical question. (Is life worth living?)

It is fully possible to be surrounded by people who love you and feel completely alone and not a part of the world.

People with deprission and mental issues are genuinely ill and the war that rages inside is not unlike running a marathon with your shoes tied together while everyone watches from the sideline puzzled at how someone so smart, talented, caring, and admired cannot simply run.

One person I know wishes they were missing a limb because then people could understand how hard it is to interact with the world.

It gets tiring, the deamons are always there, and many end up being overtaken well before there time. Sadly, it always suprises thise closest to the individual.

A little kindness in the world goes a long way, and we never know the battles anyone is fighting. People say it so much, but it is often cliche: Celebrate each moment, you never know when that moment can be your last, or can make someone's life.

Glad you brought this up, though OT and somewhat uncomfortable for a lot of people, it should be discussed and better understood.

WTH? I didn't hear about him being in Detroit until last night, was upset about that, and I wake up this morning to find out he passed. Sad.
