Sure has some new 2.1 enabled and bridgeable amps with DSP. It also looks like there are POTs on the boards to control Master volume and High/Low filters. There is also a sub cut off freq as well.

That's a nice product at a great price!

It looks like it would be easy to program the DSP from an Arduino CPU to provide a lot more flexibility (parametric EQ, programmable BSC, different crossover types and frequencies, etc...). This looks ideal for small plate amps for two-way or three-way speakers.

I have had good luck with a couple of these units:

          https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...&condition=new

I had thought that they were NLA, but it looks like they ARE available, just $30 more than when I bought mine. I don't believe they're anything magical, just a very well done rendition of the TPA3116 (at least for me). Of course, this is a "good-to-go" all-in-one unit. My eyes aren't good enough any more to be messing with crappy little undone boards.

I bought this one its and im happy with it. I like the remote and bluetooth connection. I also got a 2.1 aml board that is supposed to be the same baord. Either way i can crank my boombox up quiet loudly with 2 full range 3" drivers and the tangband 5-1/4" sub and im quite happy with it in the garage.

So when you bought yours, it was $40? If so, that's an amazing deal. I'm definitely liking these, but I feel like once you cross $50 for a mini amp, it feels like a different kind of project.

Well, one for $44 in 11/16 and one for $49 in March. I do believe they were $39.99 when I first noticed them about a year ago. I see they are also on eBay for $79.99. The rarity of a decent 2.1 miniamp probably tells us something about the price trend.

Good point. I work at an office that seems to accumulate orphaned laptop power supplies like crazy, so I kind of take that for granted. Otherwise kick it up $10 to $30+.

But the common problem seems to be the effectiveness of the highpass/lowpass/sub gain controls. How does this amp perform in this regard?

Dan, you cant change the sub crossover and are limited to "rock, jazz, pop, flat" eq on the 2 other channels. I just used caps on my full ranges to roll them off around 170-200hz i think. It works pretty wepp but would have liked to have sub xover control. One thing i liked was it actually has some power i have tried a few terrible 2.1 amps that jist couldnt power the 5-1/4" tangband sub.

This lepai one is absolute garbage. https://www.parts-express.com/lepai-...utput--310-308

I tried 1 or 2 other very cheap boards that just didnt have any power or started to distort immediately. One was from a gaming chair thing.

If you can get your hands on one of the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 amps they work very well. Somewhere I have a lot of documentation on what resistors can be changed to modify the crossover points for the different outputs. I have one that I am fixing to add a WiFi module to for use out on our patio around the pool. The Keiga 2.1 amp is also a nice amp. I have one of those in my office setup right now.
