  • FRD Response Blender problem

    If I add 'Tails' to the woofer response It seems to work fine but the tweeter doesn't.

    In the "HF_FRD_Data" Tab I click on "Import FRD File" a box comes up and says "Import Completed!" and I click "Ok". I click on the "Control" Tab and set the low frequency tail to 18db/300hz. I keep the high frequency tail at the default settings. I then click on the "Extract Minimum Phase" and the green phase line changes. I then Click "Save Blended Results to FRD File" and the mouse pointer turns blue and into a revolving circle that never stops revolving.
    I then have to click on the red cross In the top right corner to close the program but I get a box that says "Microsoft Excel Is not responding" and I click on the option to "Close the Program".
    The new blended file Is now saved In the correct folder but when I load It back Into FRD Response Blender a box comes up and says "Warning - During the Import, one or more rows only contained 1 columns of data."
    The Magnitude response looks very wrong with a flat response from 1000hz to 20000hz (20hz to 1000hz does look as It should though)

    If I Import the file Into LspCAD I get a rising response towards the high frequencies, when It should be flat (actual measured response with calibrated mic).

    Anyone know what the problem could be?

    Could you post the original .frd as a .txt file? Might be helpful to look at it.

        2 things are apparent.
        1st, try either deleting that "header" (1st line that says "Freq Mag Phase"), OR adding an asterisk * in front of it.
        The other odd thing is that for ANY driver, the NEGative Mag values SEEM ok (I THINK), but they should be heading in a positive direction w/increasing freq.
        THIS driver is -33dB down @ 20Hz, and 11dB quieter up at 100Hz (-44dB down).

          Just tried deleting the header but It's still the same :(

          Strange that 100hz Is 11db down from 20hz because the frequency response looks fine In LspCAD (The same as the datasheet).

              After using the txt import wizard in excel, the partial file above worked in the Blender for me

                Do you mean the file In post #3? That part Is fine. The problem Is around 1000hz and higher (File In post #6)


                I edited the file In Notepad, to make all the columns line up but It still gave the same results :(

                          Yup, I got the same error and crashed excel. I added 50 dB in the min phase window and the file is fine. Pic show the original, trimmed, and min phase window where I added 50 dB.

                          The plus 50 FRD file is attached also. You sir have found the limits of the Blender...
