  • Diyindiana 2012 black box speaker contest winner was?

    Hi Guys,

The title says it all. I'm wondering if anyone knows and could give a link to the build thread on the speaker that won the "under $ 150 total cost" contest that year.

    Thanks!

    Jay

The winner was Dave Pellegrene. I'm not sure if he had a build thread on it.

The woofers are now NLA, so you can't buy them anymore. He did a build thread if I recall correctly and it should be linked on the past pics page on the InDIYana website.
Linked through my signature and then at the bottom of the page.

        Thanks guys,

Wolf's link on his inDiyana website to the contestants in the black box contest led me to Scott Sehlin"s Mercurys which look like a very nice and still very affordable design. The parts are on their way from PE currently.

        Thanks again,

        Jay

That's what I ended up clicking after a fairly entertaining read through Dave's thread. What an innovative design Dave had, and also Scott's project looks good. He must really like those BC25's. I haven't heard them yet, I've only heard my T20 in the OS MTM and the SB26STAC in my current project.

It's hard to keep up with the project links as not all contestants have the threads made for them, and there are so many entries. I think that might be the only year I linked them to the event website. Normally, the contestants ill have InDIYana 20XX in their thread title now. This makes them easier to find.

            Scott's design was very nice!
