  • Removing sticky stuff from veneer

I have some sticky residue on some speakers from small pads that were on the bottom. What is a safe product to use that will remove the residue without harming the wood? The finish appears to be a simple was rather than a shiny poly or similar.

I've used baby oil to remove the glue residue left behind from contact paper on a "vinyl" veneer. Worked great after other solvents didn't (alcohol, WD40, acetone, etc.). Always check in a inconspicuous area first.

if you can handle the stench , we use ammonia to remove pressure sensitive adhesive . though i've never tried it on wood .

I might be a little shy about use of Ammonia on them but I am not sure if it would be OK
