Surprised and delighted by his Acoustic performances too.
His Live At Carnegie Hall - An Acoustic Evening is well recorded.

Sometimes when you watch a great musician, they seem to make the instrument an extension of themselves, in the end you can't separate the two: think Jimi Hendrix, Nigel Kennedy, Miles Davis or Herbie Hancock. Magic.

While he may be a trained musician, that is not Flamenco.

The talent doesn't reside in the fingers, or even the hands.

Since this thread has become a free-for-all, can anyone guess where this is from? It's got a "modern" sound even though it was written over 400 years ago.

That is definitely much more reminiscent of Flamenco.

Here's a clip, a bit lacking in sound quality, with Joe and a an excellent English guitarist and singer, Chantel McGregor: both of them can really play and get a nice groove happening here:

Chantel does some really nice covers in concert, including Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Robin Trower and SRV, available on YouTube. I wish she'd use a Strat, but.
