  • OT: I need an object 3D printed

Does anyone here have the capability to do that? What I need is the function 1/x printed as a cone. In calculus it is called a solid of revolution. The big end only needs to be about 6 inches in diameter.

    Could you provide more information?

Well, I need the type of plastic not to be brittle. The shape looks like the end of a trumpet, but it has to be as close as possible to the function 1/x rotated about the x axis.

Does the information in the above link define the cross section curve you want? If it does, can you provide an Excel file?

3D filament is fairly resilient, but, what is the intended application?

Yes, but only for x = 1 to x = 6. I can provide an Excel file. I want to use it to show people what that curve looks like. I also need one for the function 1/ x^2. I will send you a file for both if you provide an email address.

By the way, how thick is the filament?
