I am loathe to admit I need your help on clicky things in a post - can you explain what your last post was?
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

It is what ever you think it is as that is what is that floats your boat. LMAOROTF

That's so sad. Another DIYer falters and falls by the wayside.

                Steve -

As a people, we have become increasingly intolerant of others' opinions. Too many think if your opinion is other than mine, you are to be beaten into submission ... at all costs. Just take a look at politics and how aggressive things have become. Sadly, it can get worse when some form of anonymity is involved, aka the internet. There are some great people here but ... I share your feelings of dismay over the squabbles that take place not only here, but on other public sites as well.

With that said ... where's AE? Isn't there some grammar in this thread which needs correcting?

wow......catching up with this thread was surely a waste of time!

That being said i'm kindly interested in what was mentioned about Harman International (specifically Revel and JBL)......I was under the impression that their aquisitions were all about the bottom line and basically anything they touched was now mid-fi at best?

Are you saying that there is actually effort being put forth by Harman for value based quality? This is a serious question btw! I used to be a Harman/kardon fan back in the day but find their newer offerings lacking substance.

Well, I like both these speakers. YMMV, and all that.

Kevin Voeks is not Mid fi! Harmon has the best if not in the world testing facility next to the Canadian National research facility which Kevin has worked with. Dr. Sean Olive is a smart as it gets in this field . Revel is good and has stayed separate from JBL. Harmon owns many lines. Mark Levinson which was a name in John Curls work. Madrigal group and a few more !

There are always those who try to force their opinions down the throats of others with no views of their own but mostly what they have heard from others .. DIY can be damn good or better than commercial but not always. As mentioned by Pete , You do get better performance with better parts. What DIY lacks is buying volume power in those parts..
For those who like car analogies , You cant take a car and add fuel injection and expect it to compete with a system tested and designed to all function together .. HP cost money ! No free lunch !

So Samsung is still emphasizing quality.....thats cool !

I suppose as with anything else the high end offerings are just that and the rest trickles down to the gutter........just have to figure out where the line is!

is the newer version of the K2 as good of build quality as the older ones?

I've just seen so many corporate buyouts of a 'name' where on down the road the product just rides the shoulders of said name.
It's good to hear Samsung is still sticking to the original companies visions.....at least for awhile anyhow!

                            Samsung appears to be serious:

Although, as we all know, the whole thing could go down the tubes with a change of management.

While I haven't been a fan of Samsung gear (stung by too many failures of Samsung-made items), you do have to applaud their approach.
