    I'll third Amused To Death, even though I don't like it that much as a record...

    Depending on what you listen to, a really good classical concerto recording should place the instruments so that you can picture them on the stage: for example, Bach's Brandenburg Concertos by Trevor Pinnock. The concertos each feature different lead instruments which appear just where they should be. I have several recordings and that one's among the best performances, but it's by far the best sounding one.

    Best cd I know of for this is rodger waters, amused to death. Recorded in q sound. If you have your speakers setup correct and a good front end it can be amazing
