  • Sunflower Redux Woofer question

Hi I'm seriously eyeing Paul Carmody's Sunflowers as my next speaker build. If anybody has built them, can you please clarify something? He lists the 8 inch woofer as the rs225. On PE I see the rs225-4 and the rs225-8. Ie 4 ohm version and 8 ohm version respectively. Which one does his design call for?

    Thanks

He shows an original "shielded" woofer (that's the big "can" around the motor structure). Those were only around for the orig. 8ohm version.
You SHOULD be able to use the (now, NOT shielded) newer RS225-8 in its place.
(Maybe Paul will pop in w/any suggested box mods you'd have to make if the new woofer's T/S parms are significantly different?)
