Does anyone remember the Fan Favorite winner? I think it was Adam's Provare speakers, but I am not sure.

I'll post pictures of some of the other speakers when I get home. Feel free to add more pictures and comments about the event.

Thank you so much for posting this. I attended, but couldn’t stay long enough to watch the results. So glad to see the Snails placed at the top of their category. It was one of my favorite speakers at the show. What I’m really shocked with is that Paul K’s speaker didn’t place. It was certainly a tough competition and all great speakers, but if I could walk away with one speaker that day it would have be Paul K’s speaker - it just thought it sounded spectacular. I agree completely with your comments about Paul's Cornetta speakers. This is now the 2nd time that I have heard these (Indy & MWAF) and the sound quality was top notch both times. Smooth and liquid on top with well balanced mids. This combined with deep, non-resonant bass. It hit the low notes well on the first track with ease. And the cabinets were simply stunning. This was the type of speaker that could easily make the cover of a magazine. Well done. Here is a pic:

Bill you take beautiful pictures. It was a really pleasure getting to meet you and everyone else there.

You are correct, Adam’s were fan favorite.

Your and Bill's follow-up compliments about my Cornettas are very much appreciated. I honestly thought the competition was very tough and even told a couple of people sitting with me (Dan Neubecker for one) that I'd be surprised if I made it above 3rd place. No, I don't feel short-changed for not even being awarded 3rd place. I do wish, though, that the music selections didn't focus so much on vocals, and the source from the Pines of Rome Suite that was used for the first track in the over-$200 was of rather poor audio quality IMO (I have two recordings of the Pines of Rome and both sound far superior to what PE used). Nevertheless I had a really good time and thank PE for holding this event. I especially appreciate the pair of RST28F-4 tweeters they put in our grab bags. Congratulations to all of the winners. Bill, thanks for your photos.
                    Paul

Paul - I couldn’t agree more with your comment on the sound quality of the first track. I thought it was rather poor too. The track didn’t sound good on any of the speakers in that category. Great job on your speakers though - absolutely loved them - and to think they can be built with less than $1,000in parts just blows my mind! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the pics Bill, I really appreciate all the effort you make to inform the rest of us. I think Paul's Cornettas were tanked by the 40% emphasis on "design originality". The Cornettas are a great example of Paul's woodworking skills and have that classic, beautiful look. But the "design originality" emphasis requires something unique, perhaps bordering on quirky. But when you enter the game you play by the rules. And I can't really fault PE for their rule selection either. In any case, I think Paul is more than satisfied to keep designing great sounding speakers than also look amazing in any setting.

Everything was pretty tight in under and over 200 classes. There were about 5-6 entries in both classes that deserved a placement.
For instance, I had Adam and Dan flipped, and PaulK in 4th on my ballot. Under, I had Nick, me, and Javad in top 3 and Bill in 4th.

Another note, David's Sherlock's were a REALLY nice little 2-way. I also think he deserved a spot, and rounded out my top 5.
                          I had a great time,
