    Again... Hypex FA122 backbox... Suggestions?

EDIT: I requested move of a related thread that ended up in classifieds last week, but no dice so far. Figure that mods are busy. So posting here now.

    -----------

    Hi.

Trying to get a clear picture of production costs on a 2-way active enclosure using a Hypex FA122 plate amp. Guessing that some of you folks have had to address the lack of readymade backboxes for FAxxx series already. If so... please share your UL94 VO+V1 solutions here.

    TIA.

Have been searching web for something like the following. Would rather use Fusion Amp (quieter standby). Sure would be nice, Hypex, ...

    Thanks.

It would be nice if Hypex offered something OEM for us.

However, note that small acoustic leaks are really not consequential until you get to very low frequencies. IOW, the two rows of cooling slots would not be "sensed" by a monitor speaker, and not even by a subwoofer! However it is possible that they could "chuff" or "whistle" when the speaker is played near max volume.

It might be worthwhile to build a crude woofer test box and see if the slots have any audible effects.
