    New build for me

Going to try an MTM with these drivers.

    Woofers: Usher 8945P
    Tweeter: SEAS Prestige 27TBCD/DXT

First try at designing a crossover too, so let see how long this takes. Once I get far enough along, I'll create a post in the project showcase.

    Opinions welcome.

If you search PE for # 296-602, you can still get (15 yr old!) CLIO f/z data for these woofers.
    PM sent.

Started toying with the design of the crossover. This is a novice first stab based on previous designs compiled in XSim. Critiques are welcome.Click image for larger version Name:	89459 dxt MTM circuit.jpg Views:	0 Size:	65.9 KB ID:	1428517

This is where I am most unsure of things.

Perhaps I should move this to the Speaker Project section?

Your LCR "notch" on the woofers is basically ineffectual, and up near 6kHz, whereas the breakup is more like an octave lower.
There's nothing wrong w/your impedance plot.

Will go back to notch and remove to see what the effect is. Thanks for the feedback

You could probably tank that breakup over the first inductor. It would save you a coil and use a tiny cap - maybe a .47uF. I would add a few ohms in series with that cap just to keep from shunting HF directly to ground and making your amp unhappy.

-- Just looked at the raw response from the Usher - maybe a simple tank won't be effective here. Carry on....

Tried a second order on the woofers and retooled the notch. This allowed me to remove the padding on the tweeter.

response, a little dip at 1.2k I can't seem to deal with. I can probably live with that
