  • NP: Greta Van Fleet - "Highway Tune"...

Now I know why I didn't know this 'zeppelin-esque' tune... It was not LZ at all!

    These guys are pretty good!

Greta Van Fleet can be one of those sounds that your either love or hate. I like them, but like Santana, they can quickly become fatiguing.

    YMMV

I agree - I like 'em for about half an album, then I've had enough. I'm hoping they mature musically, and diverge a bit from sounding like Led Zeppelin concentrate. I think the talent is there, but they need to take more risk.

The instrumentalists are very talented but they need someone who can sing. I can barely handle 30 seconds of that voice.

The lowest possible F3 box alignment is not always the best alignment.

Designing and building speaker projects are like playing with adult Lego Blocks for me.

+1 They need to establish their own sound. Got potential though.

What really turned me off on these guys is when the singer said that he didn't know who Led Zepplin was before Greta Van Fleet had a record deal. It's one thing to use a famous band's sound for a template, but don't lie about it.

The wife describes the lead singer's voice as a 'cutting' voice. Nothing necessarily wrong with it other than it tends to polarize opinions; either you like it or hate it, not much in-between. I disagree that the band needs a new singer that can sing and feel Josh Kiszka's very unique voiceis the reason for the band's popularity ... even though I fatigue from the screeching after a few minutes.

Each has their own concept of beauty.

Reminds me of the mid- 60s track "Lies" by The Knickerbockers; so Beatle-esque that John said "I don't remember writing that one!"
