  • Attenuating drivers connected in series

    Good Morning,

If two drivers are connected in series, can you attenuate the volume of one without affecting the other? (i.e., level match). Can that be done by connecting a resistor in parallel with the louder driver? I am less concerned with the impedance change of the resulting circuit.

    Thanks,

Uh, yes... if my "series" sim is correct; as the bypassing impedance drops and THAT driver gets quieter, the non-bypassed driver gets louder (basically maintaining the summed response) - I think due to the (comparatively) higher voltage drop across the non-passed driver. ? Of course the overall imp. drops, and the amp's power demand rises.
