We're about to introduce 'Stage Four' restrictions in Melbourne, which, trying to be positive, will mean more time to listen to and watch music, build and tweak speakers.

I recently found this Bryan Ferry live clip, a cover of Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane" which absolutely knocked me out with the musicianship and quality:

The whole show is great but this IMHO is just perfect.

    Happy listening!

Wow. I searched what's happening Down Under, and it seems you've got the same screwballs as we do mucking up the works. It's a shame, because it seems like you had a handle on it. Good luck, hope Melbourne doesn't become the next Miami.

Frampton's Detroit concert is really good. Music from Daryl's house is really good as well.

Thank you for the good wishes, Bill

One of our radio stations has the motto "Mozart Fixes Everything": listening to good music certainly helps.

Music is saving me through this. I gave this a cranking yesterday, and everytime I go back to this performance, I'm thoroughly pulled in deeply. Masters having a great conversation. I hope that you all stay safe. I'm past the symptoms, and 8 more days of quarantine. Glenn.

There's some talent on that stage, the only one missing is Kenny Burrell ! Great clip, thank you.

I have to admit after many years of listening to rock and blues, it took me a while to get used to the more subdued tone of 'traditional' jazz guitarists; but it's just different.

Stage Four for Melbourne announced today: really quite severe - no retail stores, travel only allowed within 5km of home, and then only permitted for essential food and medical supplies, post office, medical reasons and essential work. Allowed out for one hour a day, no visiting anyone and only one person allowed out for shopping: on the spot fines of $1600.

Oh well, looking forward to a lot of listening and making music compilations to send out and try to cheer people up.

                Geoff

Man, Kenny is killer! I go through so many different genres, depending on the mood I'm in. I've went down the rabbit hole of Tosin Abasi, Cornell Dupree, John Petrucci, Wes Montgomery, Plant and Krause, and that's just over the last couple of days. Leonid and Friends took me off into Chicago land, which then shot me off into Tower Of Power. I'm amazed that we haven't been further restricted here, based on the rising numbers. The very first day of school, we had multiple positive tests of teachers and students. As to blues and rock, Geoff, here's something for you. This was the last outdoor gig that we were allowed to play, right before myself, and my buddy Rog, the bass player, came down with Covid19. This also keeps with spirit of diy. The sub that we're using is a Danley based horn cab loaded with a B&C 18tbw100-4, that J. built, with a dsp EV amp integrated into the cab. Glenn.

That's how South Korea kept their death toll at 301 and Japan at 1,011. You'd think that fines wouldn't be necessary, that the promise of staying alive would suffice, but if this pandemic proved anything it's that Darwin was right.

                      Geoff,

Thanks for reminding me of another distraction from my honey-do list. My wife will be thrilled...

This is one of my favorite live performances of a cover. I was, and still am, completely blown away by this.
