Port tuning of the Classix 2.5, with the Precision port
So just when I posted my (a bit emotional) post yesterday, it dawned on me, that I could shorten the port - as you say Chris. Instead of cutting it - i just removed the rear flare. Now i can revert the change without any damage.
Here's the response with and without the baseplate :-)
I've listened to it - and it's probably suggestive thinking. I do find it a bit punchier - but i missed some of the impressive low notes it produced before. I'll add the flare again, and build the other speaker. I can always change the tuning :-)
Shifting back and forth made it clear, that the bass got too thunderous at the low tune. It looses some punch. Off with the flare again, and let the sub do the thunder :-)
