Waveguide WG 148 R | Visaton

Does this waveguide fit the RS28a without mods? That would be perfect, but somehow, I don't think it's a direct fit.

Rats. I have a pair of Dayton RS28A's NOS, and this waveguide fits with not that many mods. And they ship to Mexico.

So, Seas DXT, real waveguide or Peerles 32's?

Keith Etheredge used it with the RST28F in this thread. Not sure if they're the exact same size as RS28As or not. But I was wondering if the DA32TX would fit or not.

The Visaton WG has an opening of 37 - 38 mm. I measured one of my NOS RS28A and it needs either 41 mm (doesn't include the small plastic ring around the grill) or 45 mm (includes the small plastic ring). So you'd need to enlarge the opening and then re-chamfer the new edge. You could try removing the grill, but an adapter may be needed (based on Keith's RST28F thread).

The SEOS 8 has a 38mm opening, and can be used down to 1k fc. Pete used it with the Marksman speaker. Diysoundgroup shows them in stock for 17 usd per. Glenn.

I think I'll end up ordering the waveguide, try to fit it to the Daytons and decide between the Peerless and the RS28s.

I'd suggest mounting the Peerless on a baffle with round=overs, and taking some measurements to see if there's a problem.

I'll probably end up building two versions. I'll get my hands on a pair of Dynaudio 8" woofers and one of them will have the Peerless, the other will have an RS28a mounted on that waveguide.

I just have to figure out which one will go where...

The Dynaudios get the waveguides, the SB Acoustics get the Peerless. This is the drawing for the SB Acoustics / Peerless box. 1" roundover all around, symmetric design, 19mm MDF (3/4").
