OK all you tech geeks, here's your chance to design / specify what you feel is the best set up for 4-10 piece band (we have 3 bands) doing clubs from 150 to 1000 person capacity.
    Active Mains ?
Subs w/ full range 12/horn on poles? or all-in-one cabs?
    Best Power? How much?
(We have good in-ear & wedge monitors & can provide 4 monitor mixes.)
Also have very good mics/DIs everywhere (Shure Betas, EV, Sennheiser, Audix D series, etc. )

I would go with an active crossover. Are you looking to build the speakers or buy them? Eitherway as many 18" woofers for lows, 10" mids, and sprinkle in a few horns as you can afford.

"It has been remarked that if one selects his own components, builds his own enclosure, and is convinced he has made a wise choice of design, then his own loudspeaker sounds better to him than does anyone else's loudspeaker. In this case, the frequency response of the loudspeaker seems to play only a minor part in forming a person's opinion."
