Why does Zilch use 44" distance when he takes his measurements instead of 1 meter (39.4") ?

The further the measuring distance the better. You want a far field measurement--a couple times the wavelength in question. Obviously that's not possible for very deep.

Active x-over

One of the facets of Zilch's work is the ability to bi-amp through the passive crossover. He set it up that way.

Hence, going active is less of an issue than might first be apparent. ;)

Zilch has been inactive at AudioKarma since 12/30 also...anybody heard from him since then or have the ability to stop by the Zilchlab?

Really just want to know if we can help in any way...if needed.

I know a few of us are keeping an eye on this thread in case someone does hear from him. I'm not sure whats going on, and even though its probably none of my business if it's personal, I would still like to help in any way if possible. Also since this thread doesnt start being viewed as OT... I put in an order for my 6 x 6 JBL WG's today.
