I'm pretty sure, however, that no comma is necessary after humor (because there's no need for a pause in reading or speaking what I wrote), and neither of you caught my typo; I meant to type "or" but typed "of" before "punctuation".:o

I sometimes need a small disposable container to mix up epoxy, dispense glue, clean paint brushes or whatever. I've tried using party cups and such, but solvents usually cause the plastic to melt. Then I got the idea to recycle aluminum cans. Cut the lid off, then rinse out and dry the can and you have a wonderful one-use container.

Certainly a worthy idea. Once you get old & diseased you also wind up with a lot of old prescription bottles that seem pretty impervious to many solvents. Great for mixing small batches of custom stains/sealers/touch up paints. My pharmacy seems to ship everything in the short, wide 2" diameter bottles these days.

People take their sodas pretty seriously around here, I guess... ;)

We happen to be more bottled water folks recently. I've done similar with the plastic bottles. Just saw one off to desired height for a mixing cup. There's an advantage there in being able to see the level, what color if I'm tinting stuff, etc...

I should say that I've been using it mostly with Shellac based stuff, (ethyl alcohol solvent) don't know if they hold up to other finish solvents.

I lived in Ventura for a little while, I frequently would walk to the end of the pier.

Unfortunately, a while back the pier got a little bit shorter.
Still a great place.

Dude, NO SHARP EDGES! My can opener cuts cleanly and since aluminum is so soft, it leaves a very smooth cut. Really.

Maybe we did not have a can opener back then... that why we grind it on cement.... I was too young to why certain thing was done certain way for a reason..
