  • 2011 Iowa DIY - any word?

Just wondering if anything is happening?
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Dougie announced some time ago that he would be unable to host the Iowa event this year, then several people from the Chicago area talked about getting together to organize an event there as a replacement.

And, FWIW, I wouldn't be opposed to September time-frame either. September/October works for me!

Alright, Mr. Carmody, How's the buzz about this (for 'Hillsdale' was it?) going?

Re: 2011 Iowa DIY - any word?

I really want to enter something I have built as well as see what others are doing. Planning on attending in Dayton after the tent sale. I will have something to bring to a Sept/Oct gathering!

Really wanted to go to Indy DIY but we had a death in the family and was not able to attend.

I would be willing to attend any of the mentioned venues! I just need to know when so I can sched someone to take my "on call" hours. That is farming season for me and I design and service Ag equipment! Farmers need technology too. No farmer left behind!!! I do love my job! Farmers are awesome people to work with.

Well, poopy... Pretty much any venue East of Grinnell is too far for me :( Always next year.

Related: I am still trying to get some support from the local tech school to help me host a DIY event here in Sioux Falls.

i dont see any way it could happen in grinnel without doug. rockford is just a bit of of I90. probably less miles then grinell. but, thusfar i have only volenteered craig, he has not offered.

I never understood why there wasn't a gathering in Madison. I'm surprised they have never organized something to coincide with one of their garage sales. I would love to make it to Dayton some time, but the stars will have to align just right for me to make it out there.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind working with someone to get some venue setup, but their place is too small to host an event like that.
