ummmm..... I was "below average" in English at high school,and still use only 3-4 fingers to type, but I do know basic correct usage. (although my father, Manuchester Uni, England, educated, would disagree).
Think of it as a "plea" rather that a chastisement. ;-))

Exactly. What's the value in mastering math/science concepts if you can't communicate that knowledge.
Not only was I an English major, but I am a English professor as well as a publishing novelist. (My first book is due out October 3, 2006.)
I confess, however, that while I am sometimes surprised by what I read on this board, I really don't care if hurriedly-written BBS posts are grammatically correct or not.
Send me a letter on corporate stationery, and I might feel different.
I appreciate it when people really give some effort to their posts and make sure (not shure) to spell words correctly and mind their grammar.
I studied French for a few years but was never good at it, and I'm sure English is not much easier. If everyone just does the best they can then others can try to help and improve on that, and we all benefit as a whole.
