Aviatrix MLTL Port Questions

Questions about the port for the Aviatrix MLTL.

Dwg shows outer diameter of the straight tube section 2.5" from the inside of the bottom speaker panel. I haven't cut these holes yet since I plan to measure the outer diameter of the tube 1st. I would think it's more important to locate the center of the port since port material thickness could vary, maybe it's not that sensitive...

Question: Is this how I am to locate the port?

The port dims say 3"x6", the precision port I bought for my sub has a formula on it. Do I need to figure something out or just keep the straight tube section at 3"x6"? 6" from back of the front baffle to the end of the straight tube section?

Is there a port everyone is using? I'm planning to order qty (2) 3" precision port kits Part # 268-350.

Curt's notes tell you to maintain the center of the port 4" from the inside bottom panel.

Thanks, breezed over that today even though I've probably read it half a dozen times in the past 6 months. I'll go 4-3/4" from the bottom of my front baffle as planned for my jasper jig locating hole. I love my jasper jig.

If the precision port has one or both ends flared but Curt's did not, your port will need to be longer in order to create the same tuning frequency, approximately 1/2" longer for each flared end.

There is a note below the dwg that says 3"x6" port and dwg itself shows 2 flared ends. Not specific on whether it is straight section of the tube length or flange to flange length, or 5" tube length and each flared end adds 1/2" of effective length and the overall length is actually much bigger.
