That the one I was talking about. At its price point, I think I'd want to save up and spend a little more on the Karios kit or a ZRT kit. Granted, I've never heard it, it just seems way past the price point of really good and so close to the price point of some of the top kits. Is it worth it?

      Here's a sealed version: http://www.audioheuristics.org/proje...ence_rs225.htm

Also do a search for PaulK's RSDuet for an updated ported version

I would highly recommend this 8" woofer. Extended response, great bass in about 1.5ft^3, and fairly easy to use.

Yes , thats the Seas driver but I hadn't looked at it for some time and wasn't aware a kit had been created it around it since then . When it first came to Madisound I was thinking about getting a set but opted out since I need to have speakers up against my living room walls and this A-25 update didn't seem like the right choice for me . Back then the Mad blog was suggesting a Seas 27TDFC and no xover components on the woofer. Just letting it run full up to 2000 where the TDFC took over.

We can get the Audax HM210CO over here. Don't know what the difference is compared to the HM210ZO though...

Even though there's rising distortion from a basic motor, I know the Silver Flute can work.

That Airborne has a pretty large impedance spike, anyone else worried about that?

While my RS duets do have ports, they are not just ported speakers.:( They're mass-loaded TLs and use the natural 1/4-wave resonant frequency of the cabinet's internal height for part of the system tuning. Thanks for mentioning them.:D

Re: 8" woofer suggestion for an excellent british style classic 2-way speaker

The Airborne uses the same cone sans dust cap as the MCM. It has similar Ts parameters as well (very low Q for example). On the MCM I measured, there is a very tiny wrinkle at 800 or so in the impedance curve, so it might be inherent to the cone material, I don't know.

The Airborne appears to have some type of inductance control, as the impedance does not rise as dramatically as the MCM. Without seeing independent impedance measurements, though, no telling what is going on.

The 4 or 5 db shelf below 1K on the Airborne might be problematic, actually. Baffle step losses on a typical baffle will compound that shelf.
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Pauls' Duet speaker is a very nice 8" two way, I also did a two way with the RS225 and the HiVi RT2C-A, those woofers can be used in a two way for sure, just takes a bit more x-over skills to proper tame the top end.
