  • InDIYana 2014 tee shirts

    Hi folks -

Starting this thread to gauge interest in event tee shirts for InDIYana 2014.

When JR and I helped to host Iowa 2013 we had 30 event tees printed up. We should have done 60. They were well-received and I felt bad that we had to give them away as door prizes because we didn't have enough for everyone. Anyway, at that time the shirts were subsidized by the printing company who was also an Iowa sponsor.

I'd like to try this again but we'll have to pay for the shirts this time. Depending on the complexity of the design, the shirt could cost anywhere between $8-$20. If there's enough interest, I can help to get things done up front and either deliver a prepaid batch of shirts to the show or set up a way for people to order their own shirt direct from the apparel company. There's nothing in this for me except the fun of helping with the logistics, which brings me to my next point.

Ben suggested a great slogan - "I survived ludicrosity at InDIYana 2014!"

It would seem appropriate to somehow integrate a funky crossover graphic along with the slogan, but I'm open to suggestions from anyone who's interested because I am NOT good at this stuff.

Any graphic design artists out there who'd like to lend a helping hand?

Does this tee-shirt idea sound like something y'all would like? I think it would be fun to collaborate and agree on a design here and then make it happen.

Or....is it a waste of time? Please chime in and let me know either way.

Here's what we came up with for Iowa:

Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

        I still love that slogan....

I like the idea of a xover schematic being employed, and maybe a couple images of non-rectilinear shapes.

        "shape" + "schematic" = Ludicrosity
"Ludicrosity @ InDIYana 2014 is for masochists"
"What part of 'Ludicrosity' don't you understand?"

        ...could also work.

Thing is- what schematic to use??? Likely an arbitrary one.....
Honestly I feel like maybe one of Jon Marsh 'Modula' types would work, of course without parts values listed, but that is his intellectual property.

I could draw up something I suppose....

              Re: InDIYana 2014 tee shirts

Personally I don't have an interest in getting a T-shirt because I just don't wear them. Each year I take the T-shirt we get at the MWAF and add it to the stack from previous years in a drawer, never to see the light of day again. Therefore, I'd prefer not to pay for something I won't use.

Would you be willing to ship? I like cool t-shirts... The nerdier, the better.

If there's enough interest, I could set it up so you can place the order yourself direct from the apparel company. Have to see how much comittment we get over the next couple weeks. Obviously, the more interest, the lower the cost and easier to ship out to folks who will not be at the show. But for you, Mike, I'd ship one. You're still size 3X, right?
